About the CASP register
What is a CASP?
A CASP is a crypto-asset service provider. MiCA requires a CASP to hold an authorisation from a national regulator before it offers services such as custody, exchange or a trading platform to customers in the EU.
What does "Passported to" mean?
An authorised CASP can offer its services in other EU countries without a new licence. This is called passporting. The column shows how many countries the CASP has notified. Hover over the number to see the country codes.
Why does a firm have one row when it has several authorisations?
Some firms hold more than one authorisation, each for different services. The table joins them: it shows all services, the earliest start date, and the best status.
